Michael Rafael Mercado is a director, performer, and artist currently based out of Birmingham, AL. They have recently graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a concentration in Pre-Professional Performance.

As an artist, they are fascinated with the unheard stories, the outliers that people don’t normally hear or the words they don’t want to hear. In our current time, the stories being told have to include Queer voices that continuously go unheard throughout our society. With theatrical storytelling, everyone can be heard and the connections that are woven between us all can be seen and recognized.
